Wow Jared! Your photography is GORGEOUS! My nephew is moving to Utah for work in a month. What places do you think would be best for him to explore first? Just a heads up—he’s an adventurer and doesn’t really follow safety rules. Cough cough.
Thank you so much for the kind words about my photography! Utah is an absolute dream for anyone with a camera, and it’s even better for an adventurer. He is going to love it here!
For his first explorations, Zion National Park is an absolute must. If he wants an adrenaline rush, Angel’s Landing is legendary for its steep ridges and sheer drops—just a heads up that the park now requires a permit lottery to hike the final chain section, so he’ll want to plan that ahead!
Ha! Go read my post from this morning. Hint– I know all about permits zion national park requires to hike that specific section. You’ll have to read between the lines 😉

Yes, loved your post! Also, maybe partially because I just read some fun Mason stories, I feel like I gotta help with his adventuring here in Utah, if he’s staying closer to northern Utah, tell him to look into summiting Mount Timpanogos (I actually have a whole post breakdown on that hike!). It’s a grueling but beautiful challenge. I trail ran the whole way back down last time—so much fun! 🤩 And if he really wants to test his limits, paragliding at the Point of the Mountain in Draper is world-renowned. It’s the perfect place to get airborne. I haven’t done it, yet, but it’s in my list.
And tell him a potential Utah friend wishes him safe travels! And good luck! 🍀
